Why Insta360

Over the last 2 years we have tested every 360 camera we could get our hands on and nothing holds a candle to Insta360. Range, form factor, weight, durability, software, support, you name it.

What size damper can it fit in?

All our cameras will fit through an 8 inch damper with a center pivot or a 6 inch stove pipe no problem. Offsets vary but our cameras can navigate most.

How well does it maintain video streaming connection?

You can expect to get at least 25 feet of solid connection, even in thick masonry. We have seen up to 40 feet in masonry and 60+ in other constructions.

What rods are compatible?

Most rod brands should be compatible or have an adaptor but so far only SnapLok and ButtonLok are confirmed.

Why do I need a camera?

We do a scan on every chimney inspection now. It only takes a few minutes and finding a crack or gap in the joints turns a level 1 into an insert sale or a heat shield application. Money making aside, an inspection just isn't complete without a quick scan.

Do I need extra batteries or lights?

For the camera, spare batteries are over kill. The camera is only on for a few minutes at a time so 8+ inspections a day is no problem.

The lights have a little over 1 hour run time on high. An extra pair isn't necessary but if the peace of mind is worth it to you its a fast easy swap. We usually just plug them in over lunch so we don't have to worry about it.

How long does it take to do a scan?

You can expect to take 3-4 minutes to do a thorough inspection. It takes about 20-30 seconds to connect to the app and its up to the technician from there.

How do you transfer content to your inspection software?

Simply screenshot and attach. If your using an iPad, we suggest you turn on the gestures function to make screenshots one handed and easy to edit.
